About Me

Hi…I’m Dave and I want to welcome you to my blog. I’ve been a foodie all my life, I love to cook, I love trying new restaurants, exploring the markets of big cities and happening upon a wonderful farm market – doesn’t Ina Garten and Nancy Fuller always say…”Fresh is best!”. I relish (get it?) in my West Virginia heritage, my mother, grandmothers, cousins and aunts are my inspiration in the kitchen and I draw that passion from them every time I pull out a pot. I really enjoy the Food Network, especially Damaris Phillips (there’s an entire post dedicated to her). I have two beautiful daughters that are always asking me to make them their favorite dishes. My oldest daughter graduated this Spring from at the University of Akron where she received her undergraduate degree in Exercise Science Education on her way to becoming a Physical Therapist. My youngest will be a sophomore at The Ohio State University in Columbus and she is majoring in education with an emphasis on Integrated English (?? yeah I know!). It’s always fun and exciting to visit them and explore the cities and food experiences in which they both love and live. I didn’t want my blog to be simply about food, I plan to throw in some family and fun and share some recipes on the way. Now…how did Jeeves come about you’re thinking. Myself like probably, at least I’m hoping, many of you cater and wait on your children – sometimes my daughter’s take that to the nth degree – I still sometimes cut their meat at dinner, they just don’t hold the knife correctly! Once when both of them were much younger we were visiting my sister-in-law (a spring break tradition for 20 years) at her home in Collierville, TN (near Memphis). My daughters were really running me ragged waiting on them, my sister-in-law Judi became angry and said to them…”What is your dad your servant?”… I smiled and said…”No…I’m Jeeves!” The name stuck and they and their friends have called me “Jeeves” to this day. I don’t mind as long as they don’t mind that I still call them, Bug and Noodle – Enjoy! …oh and that is my fur-daughter, Purrcy in the picture…I’m Jeeves to her too!
